Assessment of current skill levels is done through interviews with the parent/caretaker, standardized and criterion-referenced evaluation tools, observation of communication skills, and then clinical analysis of a child's speech and language samples. Our intake consultations allow us to determine the depth of the evaluation needed and whether one area needs to be evaluated further. Our evaluations, along with your input and participation help us to build a highly successful, collaborative therapy plan targeting your child's overall communication. We always provide our families printed resources that help them carry over newly formed skills and track their child's growth over time.
Following our evaluation, we will report our recommendations for the length and duration of our therapy sessions if your child qualifies. Each session can be done in the comfort of your home, in your child's school or daycare, or in person. Therapy sessions occur in 50-minute periods and our goal is to advance our children as quickly as possible while still being playful and engaging! You or another caretaker will be an integral part of our sessions and will learn and implement your child's therapy plan using the techniques we will demonstrate for you.
